Alexander Prokudin said that “the concentration of a number of harmful substances in the water samples was dozens of times higher than the permissible standard.”
Swimming in reservoirs, as well as catching and selling fish are planned to be banned in the Kherson region. The reason for this is the high concentration of harmful substances in the water. This is what the head of the Kherson regional military administration, Alexander Prokudin, said on his Telegram channel on Saturday, June 10.
The official mentioned that the water in the region is already dangerous.
“The concentration of a number of harmful substances in the water samples was dozens of times higher than the permissible standard,” he explained.
According to him, on Saturday, in a headquarters meeting for the elimination of man-made emergencies, he ordered a ban on swimming in water bodies, as well as a ban on fishing and selling fish in the region.
Wells and open reservoirs in flooded areas may contain chemicals, as well as some pathogens of infectious diseases, especially from cemeteries and landfills, the head of the region added.
The official again urged citizens to drink bottled or imported water.
Recall that the Kherson OVA reported that the water in Kherson is suitable for consumption. It comes from artesian wells, which have nothing to do with the Dnieper water.
