The condition for the release of the prisoners was the criticism of Ukraine and the praises of Budapest and the Russian Orthodox Church in a press conference, a source in the intelligence records.
A press conference with Ukrainian prisoners of war is now being prepared in Hungary. Dismissed Ukrainians of Hungarian origin must criticize Ukraine and thank the Russian Orthodox Church for supposedly “helping to move them to Budapest.” This was announced on Saturday, June 10, by RBC-Ukraine, citing its own sources close to the Ukrainian special services.
One of the media interlocutors said that a public appearance with such statements is a prerequisite for export from Russia. In particular, at a press conference, the prisoners must say how they were allegedly “forced to move, in what bad conditions they fought.” They should praise the Hungarian government and the ROC.
“Such public activity with criticism of Ukraine and gratitude to the Russian Orthodox Church was expressed by Ukrainian prisoners as a prerequisite for leaving Russia,” the sources said.
The location of the prisoners is hidden from Ukraine, there is no connection with them, the source added.
He also added that the prisoners are under armed guard, there is no possibility of free movement and return to Ukraine.
Recall that RBC-Ukraine earlier, citing sources, reported that the Russian Orthodox Church planned to transfer part of the Ukrainian captives to Hungary, and this decision was not agreed with Ukraine.
Subsequently, the Deputy Prime Minister of Hungary, Zsolt Shemien, confirmed the statement of the Russian Orthodox Church on the transfer from Russia to Hungary of 11 prisoners of war, the Transcarpathian Hungarians.
