The affected southern region of Ukraine will receive medical equipment, generators, dry rations and other necessary items.
The Belgian authorities have decided to provide Ukraine with a large amount of humanitarian aid to eliminate the consequences of the destruction of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station by Russian aggressors. This was announced yesterday by the Belgian Foreign Ministry.
It was noted that Belgium will help Ukraine through the government’s B-FAST mechanism that is used to support foreign states in crisis situations.
Thus, B-FAST will transfer to the affected region shelter equipment (tents, mattresses, sleeping bags, canisters, hygiene kits) with a total cost of 350 thousand euros.
Belgium will also provide medical equipment worth 1.6 million euros – medicines, medical equipment, drinking water storage tanks, and also provide dry rations for the displaced.
In addition, B-FAST will purchase €1.5 million worth of generators and send them to flood-affected areas.
It will be recalled that on June 7, the European Union activated the civil protection mechanism to provide assistance to Ukraine in connection with the destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station.
On the eve it became known that Ukraine has already received humanitarian aid from Europe to eliminate the consequences of the destruction of the explosion of the hydroelectric power station. The bulk of aid is still on the way.
