“On May 27, the Government of Japan decided to allocate emergency assistance grants amounting to approximately $ 166 million in response to the growing need for humanitarian support in Ukraine,” the message said.

The diplomatic mission also informed that, in response to a request from the Embassy of Ukraine in Tokyo, through the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), assistance will be provided for the transportation of fire -fighting equipment and supplies in communication, medicines, medical supplies, etc., which are urgently needed in Ukraine.

It was previously learned that Japan had decided to provide additional financial assistance to Ukraine in the amount of $ 300 million for humanitarian needs. At that time, Japan’s total aid to Ukraine was more than $ 600 million.
