Sakhaschik said that the Belarusian army was not ready to conduct military operations in Ukraine, so the order was not given.
Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko was ready in December 2022 to order the invasion of Ukraine, but he failed to motivate the army. Valery Sakhashchik, a representative of the Joint Transitional Cabinet for Defense and National Security of Democratic Belarus and the founder of the Belarusian airborne assault group as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, spoke about this in Espreso.
According to him, by the end of December, all the battle-ready formations of the Belarusian army were on the border.
“The servicemen began to move from below, began to ask a large number of questions to the command, why they should go to Ukraine, why the Ukrainian people suddenly became our enemies. The Ministry of Defense tried to intimidate the military – nothing happened,” said Sakhashchik.
He said that the KGB almost in total spent about a week in the army, blackmailed, intimidated, talked to the military, but all this was in vain.
“They proved to the top leadership that the Belarusian army is not ready to conduct military operations in Ukraine, so the order was not given,” said a representative of the Joint Transitional Cabinet for Defense and National Security of Democratic Belarus.
Recall that Lukashenka called “the only mistake” related to Ukraine. According to him, it is necessary to solve the issue when there is no Ukrainian army or readiness.
