Bihus.info journalists published an investigation by Dika Vidbudova the day before, about how the administration transferred millions of hryvnias to shell companies that were allegedly engaged in the restoration of the village after the occupation.
Among them are a resident of the temporarily occupied Donetsk, a pensioner from Nikolaev and a fugitive priest from the Rivne region.
The Bureau of Economic Security became interested in the scheme. Previously, officials could appropriate UAH 5 million in public procurement of works to restore Gostomel.
In the village administration itself, they explained their actions by “the consequences of a full-scale war and the need to make purchases quickly.” They also stated that they are not required to check contractors.
