The Russian department summoned Ambassador Toyohisa Kozuki for an explanation due to the Japanese government’s decision.
Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has summoned the Japanese ambassador over his country’s government’s decision to begin delivering military equipment to Ukraine. Moscow is now threatening Tokyo with “serious consequences.” This was reported by the press service of the Russian Foreign Ministry on Friday, June 9.
Ambassador Toyohisa Kozuki was summoned for explanations due to the Japanese government’s decision to begin delivering military equipment to Ukraine.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said the move was allegedly leading to “a further increase in the number of casualties and an escalation of hostilities.”
The Russian ministry added that the administration of Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida should be “ready to share responsibility for the deaths of civilians, especially in Russia’s border regions.”
The ministry also threatened the Japanese government with “serious consequences.”
“With this decision, Tokyo is pushing bilateral relations deeper into a dangerous dead end. Such actions cannot remain without serious consequences,” the Russian side added.
It will be remembered that the United States plans to ensure the supply of TNT from Japan for 155-mm artillery shells, while Washington urgently sent weapons and ammunition to Ukraine for a counter-offensive against the Russian army.
