So far, one victim is known – a 53-year-old man from the village of Vasilyevka, who yesterday, June 7, refused to be evacuated. This was announced in his Telegram channel by the head of the police of the Nikolaev region Sergey Shaikhet.
Local police officers are working in an enhanced mode and are patrolling the territories on boats to identify people in need of help, Shaikhet said.
I appeal to the locals, if you need any help, immediately call 102. But in any case, do not neglect the opportunity to evacuate to safe areas,” he added.
