As a result of the explosion of the Kakhovskaya HPP by the Russians, the complex of structures of the Kakhovskaya HPP and dozens of other cultural heritage sites and cultural institutions were damaged or destroyed.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy.
It is noted that at the end of yesterday, June 6, the following attractions were affected:
- a complex of structures of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station, built in 1951-1958;
- Ensemble of buildings of the Central Square in the city of Novaya Kakhovka,
- development of the historical center of the city of Novaya Kakhovka;
- palaces (houses) of culture in Nova Kakhovka, the villages of Korsunka and Dnepryan were flooded.
Also in risk areas are archeological monuments of national importance in Belozersky and Golopristansky districts:
- Lviv settlement with. Lvov (IV century BC – IV century);
- Burgunsky settlement, with. Nikolaevka (II-V Art.);
- the site of the Tyagin fortress, with. Tyaginka (XIII – XVII centuries);
- ancient settlement “Poniatovskoe” with. Concept (IV century BC – IV century), etc.
Also already flooded or endangered:
- Art Gallery. A.S. Gavdzinsky Novokahovsky City Council;
- Museum of the history of the city of New Kakhovka (museum on a voluntary basis);
- Museum of the history of the village of Kozatskoe of the Novokakhovka city council (a separate subdivision of the department of culture of the Novokakhovka city council);
- House-Museum of A. P. Bakhuta of the Novokakhovsk City Council;
- Municipal institution “Oleshkovsky Museum of Local Lore of the Oleshkovsky City Council of the Kherson Region”;
- Museum of Military Glory of the 87th Stalingrad, Perekop orders of the Red Banner and Suvorov II degree rifle division, Oleshki;
- The house where the writer O. Vishnya lived, Oleshkovsky district, with. Pots;
- Museum of the Hero of the Soviet Union Major General P.A. Pokryshevaya Golaya Pier;
- Museum of History Golopristansky district, with. Chulakovka;
- Museum of History Golopristansky district, with. Krugloozerka;
- Cossack Museum of the History of the Village and the Memorial Complex of P. Vydrigan’s Family Cossack, st. Shevchenko, 29;
- National Museum of History Kakhovka district, with. Malo Kakhovka;
- water also threatens the house-museum of Polina Raiko in Oleshki.
All these institutions, except for the museum in the village of Kazatskoye, are located in the temporarily occupied territory. Museums of Kherson, according to preliminary estimates of the situation, are not threatened with flooding.
Information about flooding or increased risks of flooding for museums located on the right bank of the Dnieper has not yet been received, the department notes.
