Hartford, Connecticut (AP)-Infowars presenter Alex Jones has offered to pay $ 120,000 per plaintiff to fix relatives of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victim who said he insulted them by saying it didn’t happen the murder, which filed a lawsuit in court on Tuesday. The families soon turned down the offer.
A judge in Connecticut ruled in November that Jones was responsible for the damages and a trial is being held to determine how much he owes the families.
Plaintiffs claim they were subjected to harassment and death threats from Jones’ followers because of a conspiracy advertised on his show.
The court published on the Internet states: “Mr. “Jones sincerely apologizes for his concern.”
Family lawyers rejected the settlement offer for several hours, telling the court it was “a transparent and desperate attempt by Alex Jones to avoid public swearing in his fraudulent and profitable campaign against the plaintiffs and -alala. ” Their loved ones got lost in Sandy Hook.
20 first-graders and six educators were killed in a 2012 shooting in Newtown, Connecticut. The families of the eight victims and an FBI agent who responded to the school are suing Jones, Infovars, and others for a fraudulent plot in Connecticut. Jones has since said he believes he was shot.
Jones has been found responsible for damages in Texas in similar cases filed by relatives of Sandy Hook victims and will also face court later this year.
