Kyiv’s support is unevenly distributed between the two political parties and is dominated by the Democrats.
About 56% of Americans support military and financial aid to Ukraine, rejecting armed aggression by the Russian Federation. This was confirmed by a Reuters/Ipsos poll.
At the same time, support is unevenly divided between the two political parties, with about 73% of Democrats saying they support more aid to Kyiv, compared to 44% of Republicans.
The four-day poll, which ended on Monday, showed a slight increase in the popularity of US President Joe Biden – 41%, compared to 40% last month.
It was noted that the American leader’s public approval has slightly changed after tense negotiations with Republicans in Congress about the government debt and reaching an agreement that averted a financial disaster.
“The economy remains a major concern for Americans amid high inflation and a push by central banks to curb prices by raising interest rates, which has made mortgages and auto loans more expensive,” said the agency.
The Reuters/Ipsos poll collected responses from 1,056 adults from a nationally representative sample.
It was previously reported that the Russians were losing interest in the war in Ukraine.
