The modernization of armored vehicles will take place at the facilities of one of the Czech enterprises in the city of Novy Jichin under the control of Ukroboronprom specialists.
The state concern Ukroboronprom and the Czech state defense company VOP CZ signed a contract for the joint maintenance of T-64 tanks for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was announced by the Ukrainian company on Tuesday, June 6.
“The Czech Republic supports and will continue to support Ukraine in its fight against the Russian aggressor. We provide the necessary military equipment, train Ukrainian soldiers and now help repair Ukrainian equipment. We offer our knowledge and skills for training and repair, and we also receive invaluable combat experience from the Ukrainians “, – said the Minister of Defense of the Czech Republic, Yana Chernokhova.
The modernization of armored vehicles will take place at the facilities of one of the Czech enterprises in the city of Novy Ychin under the technical supervision and with the direct participation of Ukroboronprom specialists. VOP CZ employees have already visited cooperation enterprises.
“The tanks have been in storage for decades, and therefore require complete disassembly, replacement of many spare parts and full restoration of combat capability. The tanks are equipped with modern optical surveillance equipment, improved communications, etc. ,” VOP CZ director Marek Paniniguro ni Spok.
It was previously known that Ukraine and the Czech Republic have created a defense cluster. Arrangements in VOP CZ are part of it. The cooperation will develop in the production, repair and joint development of armored vehicles, as well as in the creation of supply chains for components and finished products.
It has also been reported that Ukraine will build military equipment with at least six NATO member countries. At the same time, shells and mines were produced together for more than a month.
