Russian troops are firing hard on the line of confrontation in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions, the situation remains difficult, but under control. This was stated by Oleksandr Motuzyanyk, spokesman of the Ministry of Defense, at a briefing at the Ukraine Media Center, reports Ukrinform.
“Russia’s occupying forces are conducting intense fire on the line of confrontation and in the depths of the defense of our troops in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions. The situation remains difficult, but at the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will control it and know the plans of the enemy.The enemy strengthened in the direction of Limansky, Severodonetsky, Bakhmutsky, Kurakhovsky and Avdeevsky.The main goal is to cordon our troops in the areas of Lisichansk and Severodonetsk and reach the administrative border of the Luhansk region, ”Motuzyanyk said.
According to him, in the direction of Slavyansk, Ukrainian troops are preventing the offensive of a strong enemy group. The enemy tries to regroup its units and intensify the offensive in the directions of Izyum-Barvenkovo and Izyum-Slavyansk.
“In the direction of Liman, Ukrainian defenders oppose enemy attempts to push our troops out of the northwestern and south-eastern parts of Liman and form an offensive against Slavyansk. To increase capabilities of the combined weapons units of the Russian group there, the occupiers are predicted to use Terminator tanks from the 90’s, ”the spokesman cited the MOU.
He informed that in the direction of Severodonetsk, the defense forces of Ukraine repelled the attacks of the occupiers in the direction of Shchedrishchevo – Severodonetsk, Oskolonovka – Borovskoye and Nizhne – Toshkovka. In Bakhmutsky, Ukrainian troops suppressed the offensive actions of the occupiers in the Kamyshevakhi area.
The representative of the Ministry of Defense noted that in the direction of Avdeevka, the Ukrainian army is repelling the enemy offensive in the direction of Novoselovka Second – Krasnogorovka and Novobakhmutovka – Krasnogorovka.
It will be recalled that it was previously reported that on Thursday, May 26, the enemy fired at Gulyaipole again. As a result of the armed attack, dozens of private homes of civilians were significantly damaged, as well as the territory of one of the local private enterprises.
