Floodwaters flooded hundreds of homes across the country, forcing 13,400 residents to evacuate.
At least 15 people have died and eight others are missing after heavy rains caused flooding and several landslides in Haiti over the weekend. It was reported on June 4 by the Associated Press.
Nearly 13,400 people were forced to evacuate, according to rescuers, as water inundated hundreds of homes across the country, turning some streets into raging rivers. More than 7,400 families reported damage.
Authorities are assessing the impact of the rains, which caused significant damage to crops in Haiti’s central region.
Prime Minister Ariel Henry said he was working with local and international organizations to help flood victims.
