Russian authorities have adopted new “draconian laws” and officials are trying to avoid the combination of blue and yellow, which may indicate subtle support for Ukraine. In Russia, even the ultra-nationalist Liberal Democratic Party, which supports the war against Ukraine, is criticized because its brand contains yellow on a blue background. This is stated in the new code of the British Ministry of Defense.
Intelligence notes that on May 9, a nursing home worker was arrested in Russia for wearing a blue and yellow jacket to work. And in Volkhov, near St. Petersburg, a 22-year-old Russian was detained for flying a blue and yellow flag. Although this flag was the flag of the Russian military space forces, but due to the combination of blue and yellow, the guy had problems.
The crackdown highlights uncertainty among paranoid Russian officials about what is and is considered acceptable in an increasingly totalitarian system.
Recall that the Russian occupation administration in the Kherson region set September 1 of this year as the deadline for obtaining a passport of a Russian citizen with a mandatory written refusal of a Ukrainian passport. Citizens who refuse to receive Russian documents are threatened with power cuts and property confiscation.
