Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said that this so-called peace initiative is akin to a plan that Russia, the aggressor country, had previously proposed to Ukraine. The head of the Ministry of Defense made such a statement at the forum of the Shangri-La Dialogue Forum in Singapore, SCMP reports.
I’ll try to be polite. It looks like a Russian plan, not an Indonesian one,” the minister said.
Reznikov also called this Jakarta initiative a “strange plan” that no one discussed with Kiev. The head of the MOU stressed that a number of countries are ready to organize peace talks between Ukraine and Russia, but the Ukrainians need “tools” to end this war.
In addition, the defense minister also mentioned China, which, in his opinion, as an “elder brother” could convince the aggressor country of Russia to stop the war in Ukraine.
Recall that the so-called peace plan of Indonesia provides for an immediate cessation of hostilities in Ukraine. Jakarta also proposed to disengage troops from each side 15 km from the current front line and create a demilitarized zone. In addition, Indonesia proposed to hold referendums in the territories occupied by Russia.
