President Volodymyr Zelensky called on Ukrainians to personally thank the Ukrainian military. He said this in his evening speech on Saturday, June 3.

“Everyone should remember that our defense, our active actions and the independence of Ukraine are not something abstract. These are very specific people, specific actions of specific heroes, thanks to whom exist Ukraine and Ukraine will be. Thousands and thousands of the strongest, bravest, best intentions of our people,” Zelensky said.

He urged Ukrainians not to forget to personally thank the defenders.

“The ones you know personally. The ones you can only follow on social networks. The ones you’ve only heard and can tell other Ukrainians, our people. Gratitude is always important, and it’s important to hear that you’re thankful when you fight. That’s how to your people,” the president said.

Zelensky thanked specific soldiers in his address.
