Russia has failed to achieve any of the goals Putin set for his invasion of Ukraine.
Konstantin Zatulin, the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots, a member of the pro-government United Russia party, expressed the failure of the so-called SVO. On Saturday, June 3, The Moscow times reports.
According to him, Russia failed to achieve any of the goals set by President Vladimir Putin when he invaded Ukraine.
Officially announced that Russia will achieve “denazification, demilitarization and neutrality of Ukraine”, as well as “protect” the inhabitants of Donbass, the deputy recalled.
“Which of these points have we achieved results? None. Moreover, some of them have ceased to have any meaning. For example, the neutrality of Ukraine. What is the point of putting this request? None at the moment . It will not be neutral if it remains” said Zatulin.
He believes that with the current support of the West, Russia cannot hold Ukraine hostage to do something about it. “The question is – Ukraine, under the leadership of Zelensky or his successors, will continue to remain following everything that is happening, or not?”, – said Zatulin.
He noted that although the Russian leadership does not speak on this topic, it “makes it clear” that it is aware of the current situation.
It will be remembered that in the summer of last year, Putin said that the Russian Federation allegedly has not seriously started a war against Ukraine.
