Turkey hosted the inauguration of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The politician took an oath to the people of the country.
The re-elected President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on Saturday, June 3, was sworn in at the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly. This was reported by Anadolu.
Upon arriving at the parliament, Erdogan was greeted by the interim speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Devlet Bahceli. After that, the latter gave the head of state a document confirming the victory in the presidential election.
President Erdogan was sworn in after receiving his mandate from Bahceli.
Among the participants in the inauguration ceremony were representatives of 78 countries of the world, including more than 20 heads of state and government.
After the inauguration ceremony, Erdogan will lay a wreath at the Mausoleum of the founder of the Republic of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.
The program of ceremonial events will continue at the presidential complex, where Erdogan will receive congratulations. After that, the Turkish leader will go to the residence of Cankaya, where an official dinner will be given in honor of the high guests.
The final point of the steps is a briefing where the re-elected President of Turkey will announce the composition of the country’s new government.
Remember, on May 28, the second round of presidential elections was held in Turkey. Incumbent President Recep Tayyip Erdogan won with 52.16% of the vote. 47.9% of voters voted for opposition candidate Kemal Kilicdaroglu.
