It turned out that almost 893 out of 4,800 shelters were unsuitable for use. 252 objects of civil protection turned out to be closed. This was stated by Interior Minister Igor Klimenko, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.
Klimenko added that more than 5,300 rescuers, police officers and government officials carry out such audits.
The day before, Prime Minister Denis Shmihal said that the government had taken a protocol decision to check the operation of all shelters in the country. Officials will also develop changes in legislation to strengthen criminal liability for those who, through their negligence, expose children and adults to mortal danger.
Recall that the Kyiv City State Administration announced that the shelters in the capital will be constantly open, and the balance holder is responsible for the shelter.
And earlier in the Desnyansky district, not far from a closed shelter, three people, including a child, were killed during an air raid.
