Warsaw installed around 3,000 cameras on this border, and also used 400 km of cables.
Poland has completed the construction of an electronic fence on the border with Belarus. This was announced by the spokeswoman of the Polish border service, Anna Michalska, in a commentary in the Polish edition of PAP on Thursday, June 1.
“The system is already working, but individual sensors still need to be connected to the Control Center in Bialystok (north-east of the Republic of Poland) in order for them to work properly,” the official explained.
An electronic fence with surveillance camera and motion sensor systems has been installed along the entire 206-kilometer section, he added.
In total, 3,000 cameras were installed on the border between Poland and Belarus, and 400 km of cables were used. The total investment amount is PLN 343 million (more than USD 80 million).
It should be reminded that from June 1, Poland introduced a ban on the entry of trucks registered in Belarus and Russia from the territory of Belarus.
