The alliance is now focused on strengthening relations with Ukraine, expanding Ukraine’s approach to NATO standards, the Secretary of State said.
Ukraine can count on a strong package of political and practical assistance at the NATO summit in July this year in Vilnius. This is what US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said at the informal meeting of foreign ministers of allied countries in the Norwegian capital Oslo on Thursday, June 1.
“Given the ongoing discussions today, the first thing I want to say is in Vilnius, when the leaders meet at the summit (NATO, – ed.), our friends from Ukraine can expect a strong package of both political and practical assistance,” the official assured.
He added that the Alliance is currently focused on strengthening relations with Ukraine, continuing to bring Ukraine closer to NATO standards and strengthening political relations between NATO and Ukraine.
The Secretary of State also noted that NATO Allies support the commitments they made at the Bucharest Summit on Ukraine’s future NATO membership.
Remember, NATO Secretary General Stoltenberg believes that Ukraine’s entry into NATO during the war “is not on the agenda.”
