The Cabinet of Ministers has normalized the issue of granting a deferment and exempting citizens from conscription for military service.

Appropriate changes have been made to the Regulations on the preparation and conduct of the call-up of citizens of Ukraine for fixed-term military service and the acceptance of conscripts for military service under a contract.
This was announced today, May 31, by the press service of the Ministry of Defense.
In particular, the changes provide for:
- determine the grounds for granting a deferment from conscription for military service to a conscript who has a child (children) under the age of 18 years, brought up independently;
- remove the grounds for granting a deferment from conscription to draftees who have a child or a wife with a disability;
- determine the grounds for exemption from conscription for military service of conscripts who:
- bring up a child with a disability under the age of 18;
- raising a child with a serious illness;
- have a spouse who is a person with a disability;
- provide care for persons with disabilities or persons in need of it.
