The Russian army moved 50-year-old T-62 tanks into southern Ukraine, highlighting the lack of combat-ready vehicles.
Russian ground forces are constantly trying to cordon off Severodonetsk and Lysychansk, but Ukrainian forces are preventing them from achieving full control of the region. This is stated in the report of the British Ministry of Defense, published on May 27.
It was noted that Russia is putting pressure on Severodonetsk’s pocket, but Ukraine maintains control over some defense sectors, depriving Russia of full control over the Donbass.
British intelligence indicated that Russia’s Southern Group of Forces was likely still tasked with occupying southern Ukraine.
“In recent days, the Russian Federation has moved 50-year-old T-62 tanks from deep storage to the YuGV area of responsibility. And their presence on the battlefield underscores the shortage. of modern equipment ready for battle in the Russian Federation, ”they stressed.

Earlier, the Main Intelligence Directorate reported that the reunification of Russian troops in the Kherson region and in the occupied districts of the Zaporozhye region indicates the intention of the Russian Federation to have a foothold in these territories.
