Vladimir Putin, Russia’s war criminal, president of the aggressor country, has tried to downplay the drone attack on Moscow in order to deny his limited ability to “repay” Ukraine. This is written by the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

Putin said that Russian troops attacked the headquarters of the Ukrainian military intelligence “two or three days ago.” He hinted that the strikes on Moscow were Kyiv’s response to Russian strikes.
The Russian Ministry of Defense did not say that it attacked the headquarters of the Ukrainian military intelligence, there is no confirmation of Putin’s statement, writes ISW.
Putin’s emphasis on past and current missile strikes is likely an attempt to make it clear that Russia is already actively responding and does not need to respond to further Ukrainian provocations.
The ISW also drew attention to the fact that the Russians still need to “work” on improving their air defense. The institute believes that with the corresponding statement, Putin tried to get ahead of the reproaches from Russian ultranationalists, who had previously criticized the ineffectiveness of air defense in Moscow and in the regions on the border with Ukraine.
Recall that 25-30 drones attacked Moscow on the night of May 30, at least two high-rise buildings were damaged, it is reported that most of the drones were shot down on approach to the Russian capital.
