The Verkhovna Rada voted for the corresponding draft law under No. 9281 on Tuesday, May 30. In general, the bill was supported by 304 parliamentarians. People’s deputies Yaroslav Zheleznyak and Oleksiy Goncharenko reported this on Telegram.
The draft law proposes to mobilize men aged 25 to 27 who have not completed military service. General mobilization will be subject to military service men, fit and limited fit for health reasons, from 25 to 60 years old without military service experience, Goncharenko explained.
The Rada also supported bill No. 9342 as a basis, which provides that in the case of mobilization of people who do not have military service experience, they must complete a basic military training course for at least a month. Such people without training will be prohibited from being allowed to fight.
The same bill regulates additional payments to the military. The document provides that during martial law, the Ukrainian military will receive additional payments from UAH 30,000 to 100,000 in proportion to the time it takes to complete combat missions.
Conscripts will receive an additional UAH 6,000 monthly. Also, an additional payment of 6 thousand UAH is provided for the military, injured or wounded in the war. Cadets of higher military educational institutions will additionally receive 2,350 UAH per month.
In addition, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a bill in the first reading, according to which the military will receive 40 days of vacation – 30 days annually and 10 days for family reasons – during martial law.
Recall that in early May, the Verkhovna Rada extended the mobilization and martial law in Ukraine for another 90 days, until August 18, 2023.
