The Pentagon says Russia has produced economic instruments in weapons, but has no plans to escort ships with Ukrainian grain.
The United States does not plan to attract military resources for grain exports from the territory of Ukraine. This was announced on Thursday, May 26, by U.S. Department of Defense spokesman John Kirby.
He identified the blockade of the ports as “part of a brutal way of launching a completely unprovoked war.”
“Now they are using economic instruments, they have turned food into weapons and economic aid,” he said.
At the same time, Kirby said the U.S. has no plans to bring in “military resources or assets” to help move grain out of Ukraine.
Initially in Britain, they announced that they would not send their ships for a convoy of grain. At the same time, London promised to continue to work intensively with international partners to find ways to export grain from Ukraine.
Recall that President Volodymyr Zelensky called on the world to help create a corridor for grain exports from Ukrainian ports, as Russia’s blockade could lead to a shortage of grain and vegetable oil in the world. .
