The use of Romanian electricity is necessary due to the lack of total capacity of power plants in Ukraine.

Yesterday, May 27, from 21:00 to 22:00 to cover the peak of the consumption night, the energy system of Ukraine received emergency help in Romania. This was reported by the press service of Ukrenergo.

It was reported that the emergency aid was not a commercial import. It is an ad hoc, rapid response to restore balance to the grid. The use of Romanian electricity is necessary due to the lack of total capacity of power plants in Ukraine.

There are also imports from Slovakia, but at night they are less important.

“The use of emergency assistance from neighboring countries is possible due to the simultaneous operation of the Ukrainian energy system with the European energy system ENTSO-E,” added Ukrenergo.

Ukrenergo also added that the night attack of Russian drones on May 28 did not cause new damage to the energy infrastructure of the main networks, as the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine worked perfectly.

Recall that on the morning of May 25, Ukraine’s energy system was working stably, but due to the shelling of Russia and the deterioration of weather conditions, some consumers in 11 regions were without electricity.

It is reported about the deficit in the energy system of Ukraine.
