The High Council of Justice (HCR) today, May 27, agreed to the detention of judge Aleksey Tandyr, who is suspected of committing a fatal accident while intoxicated – hitting a National Guardsman at a checkpoint in Kiev on the night of May 26.

Now the prosecutor’s office will petition to take Tandyr into custody without the possibility of bail. This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
The Kyiv city prosecutor’s office will immediately send a petition for consideration to the Pechersky district court of Kiev to elect the suspect a preventive measure in the form of detention without the possibility of making bail, the prosecutor’s office notes.
Recall that the decision to grant permission to keep Tandyr in custody was supported by all 14 members of the VRP.
