“Freight traffic on the border of the Republic of Belarus of trucks, motorized tractors, trailers, including semi-trailers, and road trains registered on the territory of the Republic of Belarus or the Russian Federation, is terminated until further notice notice,” the message said.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs explained that the ban was necessary for public safety.
It was also reported that last Tuesday the State Duma of the Russian Federation adopted an appeal to the Russian government to ban the transit of Polish trucks on the territory of the Russian Federation. The President of the Association of International Road Carriers of Poland Jan Buchek explained that these are companies that transport goods to Kazakhstan, Mongolia or Uzbekistan, and therefore are forced to use Russian roads.
