Recall that on May 25, 2023, the Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky City District Court delivered a verdict in the case of the murder of 5-year-old Kirill Tlyavov in Pereyaslav.
As Rakurs wrote, one ex-policeman was sentenced to four years in prison, the other was released from serving his sentence with a probationary period of two years, and two more defendants were acquitted.
Currently, the verdict, in accordance with the requirements of the Criminal Procedure Code, has not entered into force.
The Office of the Prosecutor General’s Office said that the juvenile prosecutors of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office would appeal against it in the manner prescribed by law.
Prosecutors recalled that in May 2019 in the city of Pereyaslav, the men convicted today were on the porch of the household of one of the suspects. From there, they repeatedly fired shots at their pre-arranged targets. They neglected the fact that the place where the bullets were hit was a public place where others could be.
One of the balls fired at a mock target hit the head of a 5-year-old boy who at that time was walking on the street with his peers. The child died from his wounds in the hospital.
The prosecution authorities will take all measures to ensure fair and inevitable punishment of those responsible for the crime.
The pre-trial investigation in criminal proceedings was carried out by the DBR.
