The woman was hit on 10 May at the junction of Cromwell Road and Warwick Road in west London.

Two weeks ago, a police motorcycle escorting Duchess of Edinburgh Sophie’s royal motorcade hit 81-year-old Helen Holland from Birchanger. The BBC reported it.

It is said that at the time of the accident, Helen Holland was in London visiting her brother. After the incident, the woman was taken to the hospital, where she is in serious condition.

The victim’s family said he fought for his life for almost two weeks… but the damage to his brain resulted in his death.

Announcing Helen Holland’s death, her son Martin said his mother died after “multiple broken bones and massive internal trauma”.

In turn, Buckingham Palace said the Duchess was “deeply distraught” and sent its deepest condolences to the entire family on her behalf.

“The Duchess of Edinburgh is deeply saddened by the news of Helen Holland’s death. Her Royal Highness’s deepest sympathies are extended to all of Ms Holland’s family,” the statement said.

Chief Supt Richard Smith, head of the Royal Family and Metropolitan Police Protection Unit, said “colleagues across the police force are dealing with the tragic outcome” and “our thoughts are with the woman’s family and loved ones.”

“Police officers are aware that their actions, both on and off duty, can be monitored, and after we reported the incident, the IOPC launched an independent investigation – we continue to cooperate and support this investigation,” he says.

It was previously reported that Prince Harry lost a case regarding the payment of police protection during his visits or visits to family in the UK.
