Tina Turner, one of rock’s most prominent female vocalists, has died at the age of 83.

In 2013, the singer suffered a stroke, and three years later she was diagnosed with bowel cancer. Turner subsequently developed kidney failure, after which she received a kidney transplant. She died today, May 24, after a long illness at her home near Zurich in Switzerland. This was announced by the singer’s representative, Reuters and Sky News reported.
