Turkish intelligence services detained the head of the Islamic State – media

Turkish intelligence agencies have detained the leader of the Islamic State terrorist group Abu al-Hasan al-Qureishi in Istanbul. This was reported by the Oda TV channel on Thursday, May 26th.

It was indicated that the special operation was carried out last week by the forces of the intelligence and counter-terrorism department. The leadership was carried out by Istanbul police chief, Zafer Aktas.

“In the course of the operation, which was conducted in the strictest secrecy, important information about the organization was obtained,” the report said.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is expected to announce details of the operation in the coming days.
