The contingent will consist of a maximum of 15 people whose task is to support national security, the German government said.
Germany is sending its contingent to the European Union Partnership Mission in Moldova (EUPM Moldova). This decision was announced by government spokesman Steffen Gebeshtreit, reports Ukrinform.
It is reported that the contingent will consist of a maximum of 15 people whose task is to support national security.
“The Republic of Moldova is seriously affected by Russia’s illegal war of aggression against Ukraine, in addition, Russia’s attempts to destabilize the situation in the countries continue. These destabilization attempts are aimed at sabotage the course of European reforms and integration,” said Gebeshtreit.
German Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Andrea Sasse added that three candidates for the mission have already been approved: a police officer and two experts.
It was previously reported that a mission was being created in the EU to strengthen Moldova’s security.
Recall that the EU will allocate 40 million euros to Moldova for defense development.
