The annual population growth of more than 590,000, the highest since 2008, is due to the influx of foreign nationals into the country.
In the first quarter of this year, Colombians (more than 44,000), Moroccans (more than 23,000), Venezuelans (more than 21,000) and Peruvians (more than 18,000) are the most frequent immigrants to Spain.
Most immigrants are registered in the autonomous region of Madrid (0.60%), in Valencia (0.54%) and Catalonia (0.46%).
The last high was recorded on January 1, 2021, when the population of Spain was more than 47 million.
