Ukrainian blogger Ilona Chernobay staged a performance on the red carpet of the Cannes Film Festival 2023. She came out in a dress the color of the Ukrainian flag and doused herself in fake blood. Chernobay said this on Instagram.
“On the red carpet of the 76th Cannes Film Festival, I came out dressed in the color of our flag and doused myself in red paint. I took my chance and with this action I remembered what was happening in Ukraine!! ! … I am very glad that my action was spread all over the media of the world! People must not forget us!” – said the activist.
A girl from Kramatorsk emphasized that the action was in support of the Ukrainians in the occupation. However, event security abruptly led him out of the hall.
“And right now, bloggers and producers of conquerors are walking the Cannes Path, presenting their films at the festival!!! All this is personally related to me! I have Ukraine in my heart. Made I have to do what I have to do!” – added Chernobay, referring to the screening of the Russian film Acid.
The blogger was banned from entering the film festival and several other events in France.
“I went out on the red carpet, but there was a trash can … Now I’m solving the situation with the police,” said the Ukrainian.
