The SBU reported suspicion on a former ally of Yanukovych

Dmitry Vorona was appointed by the invaders as the so-called “senator of the Russian Federation – representative of the executive authority of the Zaporozhye region.”

Security Service investigators collected evidence for another henchman of former president Viktor Yanukovych, who is now helping Russia. This was reported by the press service of the SBU.

We are talking about the former head of the State Registration Service of Ukraine, Dmitry Vorone.

At the end of 2022, he was appointed as “senator of the Russian Federation – representative of the executive authority of the Zaporozhye region.” In this position, he organized the seizure of Ukrainian businesses in the temporarily occupied territory of Zaporozhye.

Vorona, on his own initiative, helped the Russians to form occupational administrations in the temporarily occupied areas of Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. He was also an “advisor” to Gauleiter Yevgeny Balitsky.

In addition, Vorona prepared an appeal to the President of Russia Vladimir Putin to encourage the Russian military and partners who contributed to the conquest of the region with state awards.

SBU investigators informed him of the suspicion of collusion with the aggressor state. The court arrested the property of the attacker for tens of millions of hryvnias. Among those arrested were the defendant’s apartments in the center of Kyiv and Mirgorod, a house with a total area of ​​more than 300 square meters. m near Kiev and 10 lands in the capital region.

The perpetrator faces up to 12 years in prison.
