Zerkalo Nedeli, citing sources, reports that Kazakhstan refused to grant agrement (consent to accepting a person as head of a diplomatic mission) to Gaidai.
The Kazakh side “softly but firmly” made it clear that it would like to see a professional diplomat as the Ambassador of Ukraine to Kazakhstan.
Earlier, Kyiv requested the candidacy of the former head of the OVA.
The previous Ukrainian ambassador to Kazakhstan, Petr Vrublevsky, was a professional diplomat. However, President Volodymyr Zelensky was forced to dismiss him from office in October last year after Astana’s displeasure and Moscow’s hysteria, demanding that Kazakhstan immediately expel the Ukrainian diplomat from the country.
Such a reaction was caused by an interview of the Ukrainian ambassador to a local blogger, in which he stated about the Russians:
We are trying to kill more of them. The more Russians we kill now, the less our children will have to kill.
As a reminder, Ambassador Olesya Ilashchuk, appointed despite her lack of experience, began work in Bulgaria at the end of March. She was appointed to the position in December 2022 by decree of President Volodymyr Zelensky.
This appointment caused a public outcry, since she had not previously worked either in diplomatic positions or in the civil service, but positioned herself as a specialist in sexology and precious jewelry.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry noted that Ilashchuk has everything necessary for successful work. In particular, she graduated from the Chernivtsi National University with a degree in Ukrainian Studies and has a diploma with honors.
