The aggressor country, Russia, is shelling the building of the “atomic plant” from tanks, and from the nuclear power plant itself, it is producing a landfill for storing weapons and shells. Also, the Russian occupiers are hiding behind the station in order to fire at Ukrainian peaceful cities from multiple launch rocket systems. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during his stay on the sidelines of the G7 summit in Japan.
I am here in Hiroshima to let the world hear the Ukrainian call for unification. Russia trampled on everything civilized. For more than a year, it continues to occupy our largest nuclear power plant in Europe,” he noted.
The head of state is sure that the world “will inevitably turn into ruins” if the world community ignores the Russian “level of evil and stupidity.”
Zelensky recalled that Ukraine proposed a formula for peace, where there is a clause on radiation and nuclear safety. He added that Russia must abandon the radiation and nuclear blackmail of the world, must transfer the nuclear power plant, which it now occupies, under the full control of Ukraine and the IAEA.
Recall that in early May it became known that the occupiers from Russia announced a halt in the operation of all units of the occupied Zaporozhye nuclear power plant. This could indicate the preparation of a provocation in the temporarily occupied territories of the Zaporozhye region.
However, later Energoatom stated that such reports of Russian rashists were not true.
