Canada today announced more than 70 new sanctions targeting people who support Russia’s illegal military actions and are complicit in human rights abuses, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said at the G7 summit in Hiroshima.
It was noted that the sanctions concern 17 persons and 18 organizations associated with Russian companies that provide military technologies and developments to the armed forces of the Russian Federation, relatives of sanctioned persons and members of Kremlin elite.
In addition, sanctions will be applied to 30 people and eight organizations involved in Russian human rights violations, including the kidnapping of Ukrainian children.
Recall that Australia has imposed new sanctions against the Russian Federation.
It has also been reported that the United States is introducing new export restrictions against the Russian Federation and Belarus.
