In the Poltava region, a scheme for a raider seizure of a baby food factory was exposed. This was reported by the press service of the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
“According to the investigation, the lawyer and the owner of the media holding, using controlled sources of information as tools of pressure and blackmail on businessmen and politicians, together with accomplices organized a fraudulent acquisition of 100% of the authorized capital of the enterprise,” the report said.
It is reported that the criminal organization includes at least 15 people: representatives of the power bloc, lawyers, notaries and “criminal authorities”.
“In July 2022, they illegally re-registered the plant with controlled persons. To do this, they interfered with the state registers and created fake documents. As a result of such actions, business owners suffered of damage in the amount of more than UAH 250 million,” the Office of the Prosecutor General reports.
In more than 30 searches, mobile phones, documentation, weapons, cartridges, money, cars, rough papers and other items were seized.
Five detainees are reportedly suspected of creating a criminal organization and participating in it, fraud, unlawful appropriation of company property, forgery and use of forged documents, abuse of power by persons providing public services and official forgery.
Their participation in the preparation for the raider’s seizure of other businesses in the territory of different regions is examined.
