The Ukrainian military removed Russian reserves in this direction, including several ammunition depots.
The third separate assault brigade (3 oshbr) conducted successful offensive operations on the western outskirts of the city of Bakhmut in the Donetsk region and created a springboard for further counter-offensives. This was reported on the division’s Telegram channel on Thursday, May 18.
“The width of the breakthrough zone is 2,000 m, and the depth is 700 m. Previously, the enemy had at least 50 200s and up to a hundred 300s. At the moment, four more Russians are in captivity. Also liquidated enemy reserves in this direction, including several Russian BC depots,” the statement said.
It is known that the fighters of the 1st assault and 1st mechanized battalion carried out successful attack actions.
“Follow the news on the channel. About the details soon,” added the brigade.
Recall that for several days the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been advancing around Bakhmut, liberating 20 sq. km in the suburbs. But the Russian aggressors had some success in the city itself.
