The anonymous people were copied for posters by a drawing by the protest graphic artist Lekto, the drawing first appeared as a mural in Avignon.
Dozens of posters have appeared in Avignon, southern France, depicting President Emmanuel Macron with the characteristic mustache of Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler, according to BFMTV.
Teasing posters appeared widely on the streets of the city on the evening of Thursday, May 18. Some of them were placed on advertising stands without the permission of the company owner.
Unknown people copied for the posters a drawing by the protest graphic artist Lekto, which first appeared as a mural on a concrete wall, also in Avignon. Here, the author adds a mustache to Macron, giving him a resemblance to Hitler and uses the number 49.3 for it – this is the number of the constitutional amendment used by Macron and his government to approve the unpopular reform on pensions without a vote in parliament. The portrait is framed with the inscription “No, thank you.”
On the new posters, under the picture of Macron-Hitler, there is an inscription in smaller print: “Civil disobedience becomes a sacred duty when the state becomes illegal or corrupt.”
It will be recalled that in April, a street artist under the pseudonym Lekto, known for political cartoons, created graffiti with Macron in the image of Hitler in Avignon.
