At the beginning of the war, 100% of the energy consumed by Moldova came from the Russian Federation, but now Moldova can exist without natural gas or electricity from Russia.
Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Recean said that Moldova no longer uses Russian gas or electricity after it ended dependence after the start of the war in Ukraine. He said this at a security conference in Bucharest, reports The Guardian.
According to Rechan, at the beginning of the war, 100% of the energy consumed by Moldova came from the Russian Federation, but now Moldova can exist without natural gas or electricity from Russia.
“Moldova no longer uses Russian gas, it is integrated into the European energy network technically and commercially,” said the Prime Minister of Moldova.
It was previously reported that Moldova resumed gas purchases from Russian Gazprom in March after a break of nearly three months.
Recall that Moldova first bought gas on the Romanian stock exchange.
