On Wednesday, May 17, Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba met with the Special Representative of the Chinese Government. Topical issues of cooperation between Ukraine and China at the bilateral level, within the framework of international organizations, as well as ways to stop Russian aggression were discussed. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
Kuleba briefed the Chinese Special Representative on the principles of restoring a sustainable and just peace. These principles will be to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
Also, the chief diplomat of Ukraine stressed that Kyiv does not accept any proposals involving the loss of its territories or the freezing of the war with Russia.
In addition, the Foreign Minister noted the importance of China’s participation in the implementation of the Ukrainian formula for peace, the Black Sea Grain Initiative, ensuring nuclear security and other important international efforts.
The parties separately discussed the long-term development of bilateral relations between Ukraine and China and agreed to increase dialogue on key issues on the bilateral and international agenda, the ministry added.
Recall, the PRC stated that China’s Special Representative for Eurasian Affairs Li Hui, starting from May 15, will visit Ukraine, Poland, France, Germany and Russia to discuss a full-scale war of the aggressor country Russia against Ukraine and a peaceful settlement.
