The Supreme Anti-Corruption Court of Appeal granted bail four times for one of the former acting directors. Odessa Port Plant, suspected of being involved in the misuse of 500 million hryvnias of funds belonging to state-owned enterprises. This was reported by the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office on Wednesday, May 17.
The defendant is one of the participants in a criminal organization that in 2019-2021 took the funds of state-owned enterprises, in particular. Odessa Port Plant And United Mining and Chemical Company.
According to the court’s decision, the bail was increased from UAH 5.904 million to UAH 20.130 million. The procedural obligations set by the VAKS investigating judge were left the same.
Recall that the leader of the criminal group is the former head of the State Property Fund of Ukraine. He and nine other participants were declared suspects in March. Among the defendants are two persons who at different times acted as directors Odessa Port Plant.
On May 8, the court selected in absentia one of the suspected former OPP leaders as a measure of restraint in the form of detention.
As reported, in December 2022, VAKS arrested ex-People’s Deputy Oleksandr Granovsky in absentia. The former People’s Deputy is suspected of organizing a criminal scheme of abuse of Odessa Port Plant.
