A six-year-old girl, whose parents were in captivity for a long time, was returned to Ukraine from Russia. This was announced by Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets on Facebook on Wednesday, May 17.
“Children must have a happy future! Ukrainian children can only have a happy future with their family in their own land. And recently this happened to the girl Anna-Maria, who, in with the help of our Office, was able to return to Ukraine from the territory of the Russian Federation,” he wrote.
The boy returned to his parents, who were in Russian captivity for a long time. The mother and father were soldiers captured in their hometown of Mariupol, protecting it from the Russian invaders.
“After being released from captivity, the girl’s mother turned to the Office of the Ombudsman with a request to help return her daughter. girl home,” Lubinets insisted.
According to him, now the whole family is in Ukraine and happy that they are reunited.
It was previously reported that children deported from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine are being kept by the Russian occupiers in more than 70 camps in Russia.
Recall that in April, Ukraine conducted a rescue mission and brought home 24 children from the Kherson region.
