The President of Ukraine “accepted such a peaceful initiative” of African countries, Sergey Nikiforov said

In Ukraine, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to arrive with representatives from several African countries with a “peace initiative”. This was stated by the spokesman of the President of Ukraine Serhiy Nikiforov in a commentary in Ukrainska Pravda on Wednesday, May 17.

“In a telephone conversation on May 13, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa actually informed Volodymyr Zelensky about his intention to go to Ukraine as part of a mission from several African countries,” he said.

According to Nikiforov, the President of Ukraine “accepted such a peaceful initiative.”

“Vladimir Zelensky is ready to receive distinguished guests of Ukraine, listen to their proposals, discuss the Ukrainian Peace Formula and invite them to participate in its implementation,” the head of state’s spokesman added.

It can be recalled that on May 16, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa said that on behalf of African countries, he spoke with Zelensky and Russian leader Vladimir Putin. And, they said, they agreed to accept the mission of African leaders with a peace initiative.
