London and Amsterdam have agreed to support Ukraine with everything from pilot training to the purchase of F16 aircraft.
British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte have agreed to work on an international coalition of fighters for Ukraine. This was announced on Tuesday by the head of the Office of the President, Andriy Yermak.
According to him, Britain and the Netherlands are ready to support Ukraine in everything from pilot training to the purchase of F16 aircraft.
Yermak thanked the allies for the decision to work in this direction, including the training of our pilots.
“In particular, Belgium confirmed its readiness to teach. Also, the British Prime Minister reaffirmed his belief that Ukraine’s place is in NATO. The leaders of Great Britain and the Netherlands agreed on the importance of allies which provides long-term security support to Ukraine,” Yermak wrote.
Later, the agreement to create a coalition to provide Ukraine with F-16s was confirmed by the British government.
Recall that in the Netherlands a week ago they announced that they are considering the possibility of transferring F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine and are talking to their allies.
Also on May 15, it became known that Britain will begin training Ukrainian pilots in the summer. Along with pilot training, cooperation with other countries will be made to provide Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets.
And the command of the Air Force of Ukraine said that several dozen pilots are ready to land on F-16 fighters.
